Wayward Release Notes: New Features & Enhancements
September 4, 2026
"Four Way Split"
- •Payment plans are live for booking payments: take a deposit at checkout and split the balance evenly across up to four scheduled payments on dates you choose.
- •Guests see their full schedule and pay each installment themselves, with email reminders as dates approach.
- •Added category self-management in console for tourism maps.
- •Better visibility into abandoned carts and checkout states.
- •Bug fixes around registration availability.
August 22, 2026
Routine Maintenance v1.2.3.4
- •Forms functionality updates and bug fixes
- •More tools for managing categories on tourism maps
- •Filter points of interest by tags or subcategories
- •Data protection updates
August 3, 2026
"The Friends and Family Rate"
- •Discount codes are here — create percentage or fixed-amount promo codes from the new Discounts tab on your Payments page. Scope a code to everything or a single experience, limit total uses or uses per guest, set start and end dates, and pause or archive it anytime.
- •Codes that share themselves — add ?promo=CODE to any booking link you send and the discount applies automatically at checkout.
- •Reward the right guests — restrict a code to new customers or returning ones. Anyone who's traveled with you counts as returning, including guests who paid off-platform or joined someone else's group booking.
- •A smarter date picker — a few dates show as one-tap cards; bigger schedules get a clean list with month-and-day tiles, a calendar view, and a compact confirmation card once a date is chosen.
- •Support for custom cancellation policies.
- •Booking links that look like you — booking, balance-payment, and One Link pages all live at book.wayward.travel with your logo, colors, and proper link previews when shared.
- •Faster trip rosters — clicking a date from your calendar now responds instantly instead of pausing on a blank screen.
- •Bug fixes & hardening — confirmation pages now show the exact discounted amount paid; entering a promo code before your email politely asks for the email instead of claiming the code is invalid; and we tightened checkout security.
July 31, 2026
"The Guest List"
- •Contact profiles, reimagined — every guest's trip history, checklist, notes, and waiver status now live on one scrollable page instead of scattered across tabs.
- •A before-departure checklist for every trip — see exactly what's left for each guest (waiver, payment, forms) and send their One Link straight from the checklist when something's still open.
- •A cleaner Contacts page — brought in line with the rest of Wayward's design, with filters that tuck neatly into one button on mobile.
July 24, 2026
"Save My Spot"
- •Availability and Booking are now separate tabs in the experience editor, so each section has room to breathe and is easier to manage as it grows.
- •Add dates two ways — pick specific departures on a calendar, or set a weekly repeat rule across a date range and let Wayward fill in the schedule.
- •Inventory and waitlist settings live right below availability — set spots per date and flip on the waitlist in a couple of clicks.
- •Waitlist for guests — when a date is full and the waitlist is on, guests can join for free and leave a note about their party or flexibility.
- •Waitlist confirmations — guests automatically receive a confirmation email when they join, and a new tab on the trip roster shows every waitlisted guest and the note they entered.
July 15, 2026
"Pick Your Path"
- •Faceted trail navigation — visitors can now filter trails on the tourism map by type and accessibility, from hiking and cycling to horse riding, dog friendly, ATV, snowmobiling, dog sledding, and canoeing.
- •Filters stack with the map view search, so the list always reflects what is on screen and what the visitor is looking for.
- •Improved trail ingestion — new trails can now be suggested into the pipeline for review before they go live.
- •Bug fix — manual trail edits are no longer wiped out when new trail data is ingested.

July 14, 2026
"The Missing Link"
- •One Link — every guest now gets one link, sent the moment they book, that becomes their own personal trip page: itinerary, waiver, forms, balance due, and everything else, wrapped in your brand.
- •A to-do list that does the nagging for you — guests see exactly what's left before their trip and knock it out right there — sign the waiver, pay the balance, fill out a form. No more chasing down stragglers.
- •Guest resources, right where they're needed — pin packing lists, cancellation policies, or meeting-point directions to your brand, a specific experience, or a single date, and they'll show up exactly where guests are looking.
- •Trip details that trickle down — set your guide, meeting point, and accommodation notes once on the experience and every date inherits them automatically. One date different? Override it in seconds.
- •Know who's linked in — track who's opened their page right from the roster, and resend it in one click if they haven't.
- •Bug fixes — smoothed out a rare checkout hiccup where a successful payment could briefly flash an error, and sharpened up receipt accuracy.
July 6, 2026
"Tour Season"
- •Internal Notes: centralize your operations for every trip. Log logistics, vendor contacts, gear lists, and contingency plans your team needs.
- •Attach the receipts, rosters, and reference docs right on the note. PDFs, images, Word, Excel — drag it in or click to browse.
- •Itinerary stops: Stop numbers on the map are optional now. Hide them when you want a cleaner look.
- •Fixed a markdown rendering bug with trip descriptions and stop notes.
July 2, 2026
"Field Trip"
- •Introduced a default dynamic search on the tourism map which filters the list based on the map view
- •Edit experiences right on the page — Update your trip name, duration, trip type, description, and call-to-action inline on the Overview tab. No more pop-up windows — tap a field, make the change, save. Done.
- •A brand-new itinerary editor — Your map now stays front and center while your stops live in a tidy list beside it (and slide up as a bottom sheet on your phone). See every stop at a glance — no more scrolling through a cramped tray.
- •Everything about a stop, in one place — Open any stop to edit its name and description, add a photo, and check its coordinates — then step between stops with the ‹ › arrows or pop back to the full list anytime.
- •Drag to reorder — Rearrange stops with a simple drag; the map pins and numbers update to match.
- •A smarter map view — The map now frames all your stops the moment the page loads, then stays exactly where you leave it as you pan and zoom.
- •Bug fixes — Cleared up a misleading "image too large" message on uploads, and made sure every stop field shows correctly when you're editing on your phone.
June 29, 2026
"Party of four"
- •Group booking emails — Each guest in a multi-person booking now gets their own confirmation email. Additional guests receive a clean note letting them know payment has been handled by the lead booker
- •Printable receipts — Guests can now open and print a formatted receipt after booking, showing the experience details, guests, amount paid, and booking reference
- •Cleaner roster view — Participants from the same booking are visually grouped in the event roster, and payment details are only shown for the lead booker
- •Contacts from group bookings — Additional participants are now automatically added to your contacts when a group booking is confirmed
- •Email history on contact pages — The email history section on a contact's profile now populates immediately after a confirmation is sent, without waiting for delivery tracking
- •Smarter booking flow — If an experience only has one available date or one booking type, it's selected automatically so guests don't have to
- •Trip type field — You can now label experiences with a trip type (e.g. "Backpacking", "Day hike") which appears on the booking card and experience page
- •Bug fixes — Resolved an issue where the receipt showed $0 for the amount paid; fixed the booking option label showing as "Package" instead of "Booking type"
June 20, 2026
"Redwoods"
- •Faster, smoother photo uploads — Images are now automatically compressed in your browser before uploading, so uploads are quicker and use less data, especially on mobile
- •Clearer upload errors — Uploading an iPhone (HEIC) photo in an unsupported browser now shows a helpful message instead of failing silently
- •Easier password recovery — Added a "Forgot password?" link on the login screen and made the password reset flow more reliable
- •Richer trail content — New tooling lets us import trail routes from GPX files, bringing more accurate, higher-quality trails into your experiences
